- How would you describe Canada to a complete stranger, who doesn't know anything about our culture?
- As a team you just have the rest of today to pull this off, make a plan. The judges are coming in Monday March 27th.

Look at the Heroes in Cultural Anthropology assignment & chose a person to complete a one page handout / report on.
Look at the class examples.
Go to the library and start conducting research. Make sure you have signed up for a person so that there are no overlaps.
Consolidation
With five minutes left in the period assess where you are at in the process, this is due at the end of the period on Thursday which is our other work period. Also reflect on the person you are examining, what is one thing that you learned about him or her, or what is one thing that stands out in your opinion?

Learning Goal - Begin with the End in Mind
I will know who several key physical anthropologists are, what their methodologies and major contributions to anthropology were, and which school of thought or theoretical perspective(s) they work(ed) from.

- Students have selected the anthropologist that they are researching, please take them to the library at the very beginning of the class and have them sign out laptops as needed and or get to desk tops. Remind students prior to leaving for the library that there are lots of books available for some of the people such as Darwin, Mendel, and possibly others.
- Quickly review where you are at in the process and make a plan for completion by the end of the period, track any last minute resources you need to assist you today.
- Students need to spend the entire period working on this research. There are only two periods available and this is one of them.
- Get the student handout finished.
- With about five minutes left in the period, ask the students to reflect on what they know about the person, and do a quick check through the success criteria checklist to see what they have covered successfully so far. Encourage them to plan for the future.
- Review for the success criteria and then print off the handout, put your name on the back and submit.
